Staff Council developed a survey in the Spring of 2002 to assess staff satisfaction with Staff Council and to identify issues important to staff that the Council could address in the future.
The survey was administered to 1,508 regular* staff members in April of 2002. The majority (n=1,265) of staff received an e-mail invitation to complete a web-based version of the survey, while 243 staff members without e-mail accounts or access to a computer received a paper copy of the survey. Surveys were completed by 640 staff members for a response rate of 42 percent.
Staff Council has begun a review of the survey results. The Council will use these results to make some immediate improvements and also to develop short-term and long-term strategies for representing the staff perspective on important issues. Responses to quantitative survey items are reported by division and for the University overall. Comments to open-ended items have been organized by theme within each item. The report is 62 pages in length.
