Staff Council has many different committees. One of these committees is the Compensation Committee that is working hard on your behalf. This committee, chaired by Birdie Bagwell, has recently requested information from President's Cabinet regarding the process used to set staff salaries and staff salary targets. You may review this request at our website at http://www.txstate.edu/StaffCouncil.  Staff Council's Compensation Committee is working to ensure that staff concerns are represented during the salary decision process with the ultimate goal of achieving fair levels of compensation for all staff.

Staff Council is also representing staff by working to assess the 2001 University Calendar, which includes the shortened holiday break this year. Two Staff Council members, Sarah Garrison and Susie Longoria, will represent staff on the Calendar Assessment Committee chaired by Dr. Robert Smallwood. Staff Council recommended that formation of this assessment team in its April 5, 2000 memo to the Presidents Cabinet (see Staff Council's website for a copy of this memo).
